Women, Infants, & Children (WIC)
Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a special supplemental nutrition program with a strong emphasis on education about nutrition-based health. The program provides nutrition education, screening, risk assessment, and counseling to pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and children up to five years old.
WIC also provides an eWIC card to help you purchase nutritious foods like milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, whole grain foods and fruits and vegetables at local grocery stores. New mothers who are breastfeeding may receive additional foods in an enhanced food package.
If you are interested in WIC services, please call us at 417-581-7285 to schedule an appointment.
WIC is open to people who meet income guidelines and are determined by health professionals to be at nutritional risk. An unborn child can be counted as a member of the family when eligibility is determined.

Your First WIC Appointment
We support breastfeeding moms. Breastfeeding gives your infant the perfect food and the best start in life. Science shows benefits for both you and your infant when you choose to breastfeed. The antibodies in your breast milk help protect your baby from diseases that you both are exposed to.
Breastfeeding Support
In addition to nutrition education, food vouchers, and breastfeeding support, our WIC staff also offer dental health education, referrals for childhood immunizations, blood lead tests, and mental health resources.
